How The Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority Is Using Innovative Tech To Solve Austin’s Traffic Woes

The traffic issues in Austin, Texas, are well-known and quite pervasive. Mike Heiligenstein, Executive Director of the Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority (CTRMA), is spearheading efforts to find sustainable solutions for these issues. The agency is currently overseeing a one billion dollar project that seeks to extend the 183A, see through the construction of the Manor Expressway, and make the cutting-edge Express Lanes of MoPac’s Expressway operational. For instance, sophisticated variable tolling technology is being implemented on the MoPac Express Lanes to manage traffic flow more efficiently. The work is still on see rush essays for a review of the type of projects and you can see that city projects in transportation and traffic is the area we have to make sure technology is applied inventively.
